CANTRAIN’s team is elated to share a momentous occasion with you – the grand launch of our freshly rebranded Career Development Program (GDP) for Graduate and Postdoc Trainees (GPT) ! Evolving from its roots as the Clinical and Regulatory Affairs Experience Training program at the Desjardins Centre of Advanced Training (C&RA-DCAT) now within CANTRAIN, funded by the Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR), led at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RIMUHC) in Montreal, this transformation signals a significant leap forward.
Charting Our Evolution:
The fully virtual program now stands as a dynamic force within the CANTRAIN Stream dedicated for Graduate and Postdoctoral Trainee (GPT), solidifying our commitment to excellence and innovation.
Gathering of Bright Minds:
As we eagerly anticipate this milestone, we’re set to welcome a cohort of 27 talented graduate health sciences trainees preselected through a rigorous selection process. These aspiring minds, representing universities across Canada, share a common goal – to develop the skills and knowledge essential for flourishing careers in the industry.
Commencing with Insightful Sessions:
Our inaugural webinar on Monday promises an engaging kick-off. Emily Bell, the Stream Leader of the CANTRAIN of GPT, takes the lead with a thought-provoking orientation on careers in the clinical research industry.
Delving into the World of Drug Discovery and Clinical Trials:
Following the welcoming orientation, the cohort will attend an presentation on Pre-Clinical Drug Discovery. Dr. Bertrand Jean Claude, a seasoned expert in the field, will guide participants through the intricacies of this captivating domain.
As we stand at the brink of this exciting new chapter, the entire DCAT and CANTRAIN team buzzes with anticipation. A warm welcome is extended to our new trainee cohort, poised to embark on a transformative learning experience with us.
