MENTOR

What is your interest in clinical trials?
• Medical Affairs requires a knowledge of how clinical trials are run and how the data will be utilized after the fact. Key endpoints and inclusion/exclusion criteria are key.

Why do you think clinical trials are important?
• They form the foundation for everything that comes afterwards for any medical product. It affects the medical, commercial, policy, regulatory, and marketing teams. Without the solid foundation of clinical trials, the jobs of these departments become exponentially difficult. Also, it is the most important data for physicians when considering whether or not these products are useful, safe and effective for their patients.

What is your personal philosophy about clinical trial training specifically or mentorship in general?
• Since clinical trials form the foundation for everything that follows in the life cycle of a medical product, training on clinical trials will be useful for most people wanting to enter the health care domain. Mentorship allows for an opportunity to share experiences and de-mystify jobs outside of academic research.

FUN FACT: I love traveling and have seen the Pyramids and Machu Pichu.
