MENTOR

Aleksandra Trajkovic

MSc
Manager, Research Operations, Nova Scotia Health Authority, Nova Scotia
BIOGRAPHY: I have experience in progressive clinical research (phases I, II, and III), and new drug and device development globally (various regulatory environments- FDA, Health Canada, EMEA), supporting pharmaceutical, biotech, and academic stakeholders.

Research expertise encompasses new systemic, targeted and immunotherapies, radiopharmaceuticals, devices, and nutraceuticals.

Majority of my experience involves aspects of protocol development, study startup, project management, and business development.

Additional experience in developing accredited continuing medical education programs (CME), clinical quality control, internal and external audits, SOP development, and basic academic research.

What is your interest in clinical trials?
• Personalized medicine; targeted therapies; immunotherapy; lifestyle and disease prevention.

Why do you think clinical trials are important?
• Because they advance both the science and patient medical care. Research is care!

What is your personal philosophy about clinical trial training specifically or mentorship in general?
• Few areas lend themselves so well to the mentorship and apprenticeship model, as does clinical research! No better learning than from those who embody knowledge shared (mentors). Live mentor-mentee interaction is more vibrant, inspiring, and lasting, than the didactic book or online learning.

FUN FACT: I am a black belt judoka and experienced Argentine tango dancer!
